Hello everyone,
I'm stuck at square one! I can't get the installation disc to boot on my iMac - pressing C on startup just loads Mac OS 9.2 as normal, holding down Option takes me to a menu with only the Mac HD available as a boot up option. I've checked the CD is burned properly and it boots on my PC, so it's not that. The drive is a front-loading (no-tray) DVD drive which plays normal CDs and DVDs well. So do I have to do anything to tell the iMac to recognize the disc as bootable? Or is there a way to force it to boot by some other cunning plan?

Thanks in advance!
Richard

I would try installing rEFIt (http://refit.sf.net), as it has a CD option on its boot screen. Give that a go and post back with results.
