I Have two problems on my computer

The First is that i wonder if its anything i can do to make ODC to work on my Ubuntu?

And The second is that i want to play online games like counter strike, so i asked how to do, they just say that i must install Wine, so i did, and i make it trough the HAlf Life instalation, and the steam instal, but after that i tried to make it work, and it didnt, so i restarted my computer, and i can't find Steam after that, its like its not on my computer..

Please Help, Im not that good in english but i hope someone understand my problems and try to explain to me what to do exact

ODC is eqivalent to DC++. The best way to instal it is through wine or better through Crossover Ofice, I think.
Or the best is to use dcgui instead of odc

I have never heard of ODC working on Linux, and dcgui is quite hard to get working the right way, plus it's not very user-friendly if you ask me. There is a better alternative though: HOWTO: Install Linux DC++ (the easy way) (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=42084).
