I would like to make a HD image that I can run in qemu. I can't simply make a image of the entire disk, since it will be going on the disk. Isn't there something called the superblock, an alternative to the MBR that installs the boot loader to the partition, not the MBR? I think that would work, but not many distros offer it (if that is indeed what I am looking for).
