Hey all, first post ^^. When i open and login to steam i get this message:

could not connect to steam network, this could be due to a problem with your internetconnection, or with the steam network, please visit www.steampowered.com for more info

i've tried relogging and restarting loads of times but it's having no effect :(, can anyone help me please?

What did you use to get Steam up and running ? Wine/Cedega non-free/Cedega CVS ? Have you tried reinstalling ?

I used Cedega and no i havn't because if i do i know that i won't be able to reinstall it again because i suck with linux :(



edit:forget it i think i needed to be logged into root to use it lol.

Hmmm, could be firewall and/or your router. Do you have a router?

You don't need root access.
