Starcraft only runs in 640x400 resolution so anything other than fullscreen will be small
What are your system specs? wine version?

IBM Thinkpad R31
622MB Mem
1066Mhz Processor
Integrated Graphics 3D accelerator
the hardware is not the problem because it ran fine in windows, unless wine takes up a significant amount of resources. and i don't know how to tell what wine version i have i dl and installed it a few days ago

Seems a common problem is the choppyness when playing and most people with that problem has old grafic drivers och integrated grafic cards, if you can try and get better grafic drivers, that seems to be the problem

I already posted this in another thread but putting Starcraft into windowed mode (run winecfg, go to graphics and enable the virtual desktop) has sped it up a lot for me

I know that Starcraft only runs in 640x480, but is there a way to stretch the window that Wine draws? I'm running on a 1920x1200 24" monitor, and full-screen looks REALLY pixelated, whereas windowed-mode is quite small compared to the available real-estate.
It would be nice to be able to set the window size to some intermediate value (like 1024x768 or something) and have the graphics scaled to fill that area.

im having the same problem, either i go full screen and the game runs in 640x480 box really really slowly, or i use the virtual desktop and it is also in 640x480 and it runs at perfect speed.
when i run wine from the console one of the log messages is "err:x11settings:X11DRV_ChangeDisplaySettingsEx No matching mode found! (XRandR)"
is this a problem with my Xorg.conf?
