I'm currently running the final release of PCLOS, and they really made some nice polishing touches over TR4 that I ran in the past. Most notably, 3D with Compiz now works just fine, and it's as smooth as I've ever been able to get it. Setting 3D acceleration and desktop is beyond the reach of my skills, so I never tried it in Arch, but I can say that this Compiz looks much better than how I had it running in Debian under GNOME. I was really disappointed by how choppy and crummy Beryl looked in Mint...
In any case, I'm really enjoying PCLOS! It has its flaws, like all distros, but they're relatively minor. I also positively love the apps installed off the CD, and am amazed by how the devs could fit so much. This requires far less configuration and online app installation than does Ubuntu, Mint, or any other non-DVD distro I've used. All I've had to add so far is the AMP in LAMP, Bluefish, KDEWebDev, KDE Games, Kolourpaint, Inkscape, the DVD codec, and Abiword for my own use.
Also, OpenOffice launches faster than I've seen it boot in any desktop-ready distro. It was faster in Zenwalk and Arch, but a little slower in openSuSE and Debian, and much slower in Ubuntu, Mint, etc. I also appreciate how the default menu format keeps my KMenu uncluttered. This is certainly better than any non-SUSE Kmenu configuration.
