I checked Ubuntu's pool to see whether it had the latest stable Epiphany release (1.6.3), but instead, it has the latest unstable release (1.7.1). Can you backport it, even though it is marked as "unstable"? It must be stable enough if it's in Breezy...
Thank you in advance.

Doesnt look like It'll be much of a problem - I'll leave a note on my screen to do it tomorrow morning... or sometime when I wake up.
Though it looks like there's going to be a lot of complications with amd64 ;)

this is without dbus, whatever that is needed for. it'd require building lots of other packages from source as well to meet dependencies.

This is not backported correctly, It doesn't include the ~5.04ubp1 suffix.

If someone wants to add it to the repositories he can spice it up with an official name. I don't know what the conventions are.

Since I was on a browser craze, I downloaded the tarball of epiphany 1.7.2, built and intalled it. Works great. :) Another awesome improvement. Sometimes, ok most of the time, I cannot wait for the ubuntu deb packages, however there are incidents when my impatience does not pay. :D
