Hey I am kind of new to linux and justran into a bump. I am trying to install Processing 1.0 (Beta) here is the website

http://www.processing.org

it looks like a really cool program, but I don't know how and their website doesn't give much help when it comes to linux. I am wondering if anyone has tried it and if you had how you did it.
I installed something that came with the package, but then realized that the version in synaptic was better. How do i delete something that i did not installed with synaptic?
Again thanks for all replies in advanced

You don't so much install it as run it. As their website How-To (http://www.processing.org/faq/platforms.html#linux) explains, "the Processing application is just a shell script", so to get it started you would just run the script. However, included in the How-To (http://www.processing.org/faq/platforms.html#linux) are some requirements and suggestions before using the script.

How do i delete something that i did not installed with synaptic?
That depends. What did you install?

ok so now i understand that whole runnig vs. installing stuff at first it was just so confusing, thanks for you help you might not think much but the fact that you specified that iwas runnig it rather thatn installing it made a big diff.

Now all that I need to know if how I can run it withou having to open a terminal change dir and then run the scrip. Is there a way where i can put a icons that would automatically open the script.I am just wondering
