I tried to download fedora to check it out. I didn't know which to install so I chose fedora linux. I am a newb/beginner. What is the difference between those versions. I downloaded the one under releases named "7". I downloaded and burned the .iso .
I am trying to install it now, but I wanted to test it first like I did with Ubuntu. Is there a separate live cd that I need to get? Also I am trying to duel boot between Windows Vista. I don't really like vista, So I might go back to Xp and duel boot with that. But I don't really know what to do...
Oh, and if I want to duel boot, do I need to install windows first, or can I install fedora or ubuntu now, and then install windows later.

There are two live CDs for Fedora 7 (One with KDE and another with Gnome, merely different GUIs running on top of the same system underneath). Ubuntu has three live CDs (Kubuntu, Ubuntu, Xubuntu) by comparisson. Since you are new, I would stear you away from Fedora. It is a great distro, however it is not targeted towards new users and you may feel a little over your head. Check out PCLinuxOS or LinuxMint for the easiest distributions for new users.

I think I am going to stick with ubuntu, because of the support the forums has. I am a quick learner, and I have been using ubuntu for about 2 months now. I still don't know how to install some programs, but I want to learn.

for easy installation of programs, try synaptic (and read the description of programs it provides), also you can get used to apt-get/aptitude - it's really not hard and it's also fast (faster than scrolling and clicking apply in synaptic) but you have to know the exact name of the program you want to install.
and for the programs which are not in the repos, download the source then read the readme/installation file in the folder, it usually describes very well what you have to do (a matter of configure, make, make install)
