Well i've been looking around and i really haven't seen anything about being able to get OpenSuse on a usb flashdrive is it possible or is it not because it doesn't have a live cd or something else?

There is a liveCD (well, a live DVD, but for these purposes it is the same). I've never seen anyone put it on a USB drive and use it, but as long as your drive is big enough I see no reason why not.

In general, format the usb drive (in fat16 I'm pretty sure) and paste it onto the partition. Then you would reboot and set your bios to boot the USB drive. This will make it just like a live CD/DVD in that you cannot save changes. I am not sure what format would be required to save you changes with a Suse iso... try posting on www.suseforums.net for answers or look on www.novell.com (the cool solutions part especially) for some hints. IIRC the live DVD is rather new, so I don't know if they have planned this yet.
You might also try Yopper, i think it is based on Suse and might be a little easier if they have a better live CD.
EDIT: Check this site out for some details, you might try subbing the opensuse disk for, say, the pclos one and trying a straight up switch to see if it works

Is there any advantage/disadvantage with using a USB disk?

Advantage: You do not need a DVD drive, theoretically you could make a persistant drive so you could save your changes, it sounds cool to say you did it :).
Disadvantages: Slower (especially if you don't have a really high speed USB drive), its not always easy to configure USB boot, and many machines cannot do it at all.
