dunno about limewire, but frostwire, which is practically the same as limewire, works just fine on my amd64 pc

Note on Frostwire: have installed this on 10 or more machines, works great.
Had best luck with Automatix (http://www.getautomatix.com/) installing Frostwire (http://www.frostwire.com/download.shm?os=ubuntu) and other programs.

Why in the world would you need automatix to install something that is released as a deb file?

I've used Frostwire for a bit now, and I think it's actually better than Limewire. It operates basically the same, but for some reason it feels more responsive. Or maybe it's just that I'm using it on a faster machine than the one I used Limewire on. Either way it's a great replacement for Limewire.
