I would like to dual-boot my laptop with Ubuntu and XP, but I am in a bit of a jam.
I burned an .iso image (the latest release) of the GParted Live CD with my desktop and tried the CD upon booting up my laptop. BUT, it doesn't boot from the CD-R/RW Drive. I made sure to adjust the BIOS to boot from the CD Drive first. I know the external CD-RW drive works because that's how I got Ubuntu on my laptop in the first place! Since that first .iso didn't work, I then tried an earlier release to no avail. On my Windows computer, it says that the .iso image is there, too. I have also done a hash check in the md5 sequencer. The burn is good.
I think this problem is related to my inability to play DVD's as well. I can see the executable files for both the .iso and when I put a DVD in and open up Totem or VLC media player, but neither works. This CD drive used to work well under only XP.
Any help???
