Art @ ubuntu.com is such a great site with beautiful images. But when I save the image, it is small and unsuitable for wallpaper.
I am not an artist.
What do i need to be doing? Register, perhaps? Pay a fee? Or perhaps these are not for public consumption?
Any advice on getting wallpapers is appreciated.

I have found interfacelift (http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/index.php?sort=date) to be an excellent site for wallpaper. You can choose the one which is correct for your resolution too!

Thanks
No ubuntu wallpaper there, though. That was my only interest which I did not state originally.
I sure had hoped it would be easier to switch wallpaper. I've spent more time on wallpaper than connecting to remote computers. I guess that's a good thing.....

Are you trying to get wallpaper from here (http://art.ubuntu.com/main.php)? You will need to select the appropriate screen resolution from the grey bar at the top it is just below login and register. That should give you better image quality.

I registered (even tho I'm not an artist) at the site but get only this page (screenshot). Where do I tell it I want high res images to be downloaded? My eyes must be getting bad. Or worse.
:(
Thanks again

Once you've chosen yourt actual picture, not just the album there is a dropdown box with the resolution options. I think you were still looking at a list of albums, from what i can see in the screenshot. Keep going and all will be there.

yeah deviantart.com as mentioned above is a good one, plus digital blasphemy (http://www.digitalblasphemy.com/) has some good 3d backgrounds...
