where is the save file for vegastrike?

I installed vegastrike from the download from source forge but am having problems with it and want to uninstall it and reinstall with synaptic. Where in the directory can I find my saved file and can i transfer it when I reinstall?

OK, never mind. There's no problem anymore with that. But how do I make it so I can play with the mouse?
