Here's a fun thing to do:
Open the main page of the Ubuntu forums and look at the number of members. Memorise this and then refresh a few minutes later. I just did this and 4 new members had joined. That's incredible! I don't know about other forum which 4 new memberships in such a short time. :D
I'll start a new one (with a longer wait time):
First look:
Threads: 448,050, Posts: 2,744,472, Members: 310,880
Welcome to our newest member, loa
Second look (after 5 minutes):
Threads: 448,056, Posts: 2,744,509, Members: 310,884
Welcome to our newest member, repulze
Just noticed the amount of activity on the forums, too.
In 5 minutes:
-6 new threads
-37 new posts
-4 new members.

I know what! Let's derive an equation and plot a graph to properly express this phenomenon... and then take some partial derivatives to calculate the error!

Okay, let's imagine that there is 1/4 as much activity in the forums during the night (about 8 hours or so). Doing a bit of maths, an average day will yield:
- 748 new threads
- 4329 new posts
- 468 new members.
Okay, I'm really bored :p
EDIT: Since the last update, look at the stats now :D

Yeah, but for the "number of posts" increments, you have to subtract for the people posting their figures in this thread that normally wouldn't have made that post.
