Well it's the first Saturday in July and for me that means summer break time! It also means that just like years past, the computer gets put away for a couple months. *gasp!* Yes that's right, other than an occasional email check, (mostly at netcafes) I stay off the computer for the remainder of summer. Think you could do the same?
I've found that since I started this habit, my summers have been more relaxing, enjoyable, memorable, and feel longer. So I guess this goes out as a small piece of advice - give up the computer for a bit this summer. You will feel the difference. If it's really tough, well then honestly that should tell you something about how much power it has over you and your priorities in life.
So with that, I'll be dropping off the screen for now, getting ready to enjoy summer - appreciate the company of friends and family, do some traveling and hiking, hit the beach and the waves, laze away under a tree with a good book, take long walks at sunset, whatever strikes my fancy, in short - enjoy life.
Be good, be kind, be safe, be well.
I be gone.......

that me that you know used to have feelings
but the blood has stopped pumping and he is left to decay
the me that you know is now made up of wires
and even when I'm right with you I'm so far away
I can try to get away, but I've strapped myself in
I can try to scratch away the sound in my ears
I can see it killing away all of my bad parts
I don't want to listen but it's all too clear

That's easy for you to say there in always warm Hawaii! For the rest of us less priviledged we have to take advantage of warm summer weather. Anyway, I don't have a choice now. I've decided to accept an invitation to bike the Pyrenees for the better part of the month. Our goal is to do as much as we can handle of the Atlantic to Med route. I'm an avid biker and have wanted to do this for some time now so the plan and itineraries had already been set and we're ready to roll. Obviously this is something you can only do when not tied down by responsibilities and such, in other words - only in summer. If you've never done something like this, you just don't know what you're missing! So many exciting things to do over the summer!
We're setting out in a couple days and after some weeks we'll be ready to finish it all off with the Pedals de foc (http://www.pedalsdefoc.com) (Pedals of Fire), a 220 km (5200 mts of altitude gain) circuit in the Catalan Pyrenees. It's based on the Carros de foc (http://www.carrosdefoc.com) (Chariots of Fire) race.
This gives an idea of the terrain

hmmm... maybe I do need a doctor ;) wish me luck :)
So how about anyone else? Any exciting or exotic plans this summer?

<<i'm in not so sunny Hawaii ;-)
there's really not much to do here except going to the beach, and that gets boring after a while.
alot of the fun stuff is on Oahu... the big island hasn't degraded enough (the lava) for stuff like moutnain biking, etc.
