I attempted to download and install Ubuntu with Wubi this evening. After closing down Windows XP the process of booting into Ubuntu stops with the following:
Find--set-root--ignore-floppies/wubi/boot/grub/menu.lst
Warning: Unrecognised partition table for drive 80. Please rebuild it using a Microsoft-compatible fdisk tool (err=10). Current c/h/s = 60787/255/63
Error 17: File not found
Press any key....
Pressing any key opens a box with 'Ubuntu' highlighted. Choosing it fails to boot into Ubuntu and I'm back again at the above stage. I can go no further than that, so cntrl-alt-del brings me back into Windows again. Does anyone know what's going wrong here and what I might do to correct it? I also have the cd, but wanted to install Ubuntu alongside Windows so chose Wubi. Thank you.
