now for those of you that like MMO's and like stargate check out stargateworlds.com go to the forums and talk about getting this game made to be with linux
they are using the Uneral 3 engine so it is entirely possible, the game is in pre alpha stages right now and they haven't decided if they are going to do a multi-platform launch yet or not, maybe if the community got over there and let them know what kind of interest there is for games they might do it and if the game takes off and has a decent linux following other developers may follow after :)

Ive been waiting a long time for this game and it is one of the main reasons why ive decided to build myself a brand spanking new computer. But i have a dilemma. Do I stick with windows, knowing that it is an awful OS that never works properly but be confident that the stargate game will work on it. Or do I take the chance with a linux OS as a few friends that do use it swear by it. I shall be hasselling the developers on the stargate worlds forum to get this done

You should either dualboot until you can be sure or just install linux and keep a spare copy of windows around just incase. :)
My opinion is to do the latter.

I definatly agree with ^
I love linux and hate to have to go back to windows for this game, but im planning on getting it as soon as it comes out and really wanting to play it. So imma keep windows copy close by.

Hate to burst any bubbles but there's little chance of SG:W ever seeing the light of day. The developers are on life support (many employees haven't been paid in weeks, maybe months and there are very few left actually working on it) and the main investor is trying to run some sort of crazy MLM scheme to raise money. I was looking forward to it, but I think it's going to wither on the vine.
