How can I get Beryl Icon to appear in panel for easy settings adjust/ turn on & off, etc?
I have Beryl & Emerald Theme manager installed, & all *seems* to work great, except for when I need to turn beryl off to use certain programs...

Do you have a "notification area" set up in one of your panels? When you launch beryl-manager, the icon should appear there, letting you switch between Beryl, Compiz, Metacity, and whatever other window managers you have installed (right click-select window manager).

Systems>Preferences>Sessions
Click Startup Programs Tab
then New
Name: Beryl Manager
Command: beryl-manager
Then of coarse the box is checked.

I didn't have beryl-manager installed. I just checked synaptic & I see that it wasn't selected as part of my install. I friend helped me set it up & he didn't recommend it or tell me about installing it.
Maybe he thought it wasn't a good idea? (for a noob)?

It's definitely worth having in my opinion.. makes it easy to change beryl options, or disable it temporarily if you have to.. And it can be used to launch the emerald theme manager easily too.. overall it's just a good idea..

Seconded. I'm very new to Beryl and I'd be lost without the manager.
