Does anybody know how to show the hard drive icon on desktop, such as My Computer?
Thank you.

I am going to assume you're using gnome..
If you want something very similar to what My Computer is in Windows (for example, when you open it you get a list of all drives that are connected, including cdrom, floppy, and USB drives, plus your hard drive(s)) then all you have to do is select "Places" from the top panel in gnome, then click and drag "Computer" to the desktop, this will copy it to the desktop and you can place it however you wish.
If you want to open your file system directly, which would be similar to having a direct icon for "C:\" in windows, then open the "Computer" option (Places->Computer) and then click and drag the "Filesystem" icon to your desktop..
I'm not quite sure if it's similar or not in KDE.
