Hi. It's been a while since I last used it, but visualboyadvance was pretty easy to use, if I remember correctly. Look for it in Synaptic; or, from the command line:
sudo apt-get install visualboyadvance

I have also installed VBA, but can't seem to find it in my applications.
How do I run it?

install vbaexpress for a frontend to vba.
or use mednafen. it emulates the original gameboy, gameboy color, gameboy advance, and many other consoles.

well I can't say I've had any luck in the GBA spectrum under linux; maybe I'm just an anomoly though. The only GBA emulator I've gotten to work at all was No$GBA through WINE.

I hate to bump this topic, but my version of VBA always runs too fast. I load the ROM and it fires off at 200% speed.
I have lowered the framerate and everything, still no banana
