trouble installing

I set my computer to boot from the cd but the installation is not working. I have windows on one partition and a second partition that has been reformatted and is empty and a third that has not been reformatted at all. They are all 20 gigabytes big. When I reboot the cd turns on briefly but then it switches to the hard drive and loads windows. I am not seeing any prompts or anything.


Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

In the BIOS setup, under boot priorities (or something like that... each computer is different) make sure that the CD-ROM has higher priority than the HD. Mine, for example tries floppy, then cd, then hd.

Thanks for replying. I burned the cd incorrectly. I didn't do the iso image or something but I reburned it and it installed correctly. Have been learning slowly but surely. :)
