I need something to read... and I figure everyone gets in this situation at some point or another... so I figured... why not start a thread on books? Here's the idea... suggest a book, with a short summary. Then, when you need a book to read, just hit this thread. ;-)

Or the thread could just die... but hey, worth a shot, right?

Feel free to suggest anything... fiction, non-fiction... even programming books.

I'll start. :D

Terry Prachett's Small Gods (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0061092177/qid=1120146485/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/102-2915919-2666566?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) - from the wonderful Discworld (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discworld) series, this book features Brutha, a simple monk in training, and a member of a cruel, intolerant religion, who discovers that he is his god's chosen one. The problem is, he tends to find himself in sticky situations, and his god is stuck in the form of a tortoise.

Yeah.

I dunno... somehow you just can't sum Terry Prachett up at times. It sounds like a silly idea, but the end result is biting satire, and a hilarious read. If you're a fan of Douglas Adams or Brit humor in general, give it a go.

Now... go go go! ;-)
