GTKWifi has been significantly (well, for a point release) upgraded. New is a graphical signal-strength indicator (similar to mobile phone bars) and a new graphical connection status indicator. Also, there is now a tooltip that displays the AP name, connection status, and current IP address.
.debs only this time. No Sourceforge release as of yet, as the sf.net FTP seems to be borked. The .deb is attached, though.

Looks great! Any chance that this app will ever work with WPA?

This version sports some bugs for ipw2200 1.0.4.
I don't know if it is the module version or something but it hangs on association, 1.06 didn't do that. The interface screws up/blanks (the dialog) sometimes. :(
EDIT: reverted back to 1.06.. :( this looked cool, it works sometimes.. sometimes it doesn't :(

I'm going to take a look at the problem and maybe push 1.08. If you experience problems with 1.07, please drop me a note detailing the problem.
Thanks,

Not bad, but, it doesn't want to open the Preferences...might need to do a bug report for this :)

lol, I understand. There is a huge need for a nice wireless manager that supports WPA since the Network Manager from Breezy can't be backported so if you are able to add that support it would be great!

I can't even get this version to work at all. Prefs won't open either when on the network scan list dialog. Can't wait to try the next working version out.
I am using ipw2200 v1.0

after I installed the package, how do I run it? running it from the command line gives me a warning about how it's not meant to be run from the command line?
