As you can see at http://www.openwengo.org/ Openwengo 2.1 has been released.

It can be used with other Sip providers now and comes with Alsa support. The sound-quality is great and it works flawlessly on my computer so far. I really like it. \\:D/

As someone considered in a German Ubuntu Forum Openwengo could also be a good linux <> windows video chat client now. Anybody tried it already?

I just installed Wengo on my Feisty box and mom's Windows laptop. So far it has been working great including video capability. I'm not sure about how stable it is at this moment, but this seems to be one of the best alternatives to proprietary Skype.

I couldn't use Logitech Qcam for Notebook, but that's another issue with V4L2. I have had no luck with Ekiga. So Wengo really helps me out. I really need video conference for I'm moving abroad soon.

I have tried it and put a small note to my blog.

I believe it is very good. We tried Linux-to-Linux, Linux-to-Windows. I had a problem with Dell D620 Audio settings (SigmaTel) but I setup the PortAuido version and it worked quite well.

I did pay attention to this because I could nto run my webcam with aMSN.

Very slick blog!

I happen to be running Ubuntu on the same machine, D620, so I'll try to use PortAudio version. Thank you for this information.
