Too bad for those that deleted windows completely ;-)
And I seem to be one of the few people to be experiencing google's personalized search results based on my personal search history this morning... But now there's no trace of it left on google...

Errm... why do you need this app when they already have maps and satellite photos up and easily accessible on their site  Try Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/maps).

Those are the things I don't understand about google. They're using linux and they support the linux community, yet when they make a new program they don't seem to care much about the Linux community, that doesn't make sense to me, does it for any of you?

Makes sense to me. Think of it this way:
They don't really want to spend the extra time to give Linux top notch support, but they do what to seem like they are helping OSS somehow to keep MS honest.

What I was implying that Google only "talks the talk" with Linux because Linux is the competition to the main product for their biggest future competitor- MS.
Google doesn't "walks the walk" with Linux however because it costs more to do so.
I could be wrong, this is just my opinion.

Well now I see your point... although you might be wrong, cuz google has actually shown a lot of support, this is the only one thing I've found, that all of its programs run under Windows exclusively.

You're forgetting Picasa as well. :)
This application absolutely rocks though. We can check out the places where my dad lived back in Pakistan many years ago, places in Europe where my mom lived, and my own house. :D

Well they just bought it, and porting it to linux will take some time, so if they do that it would be a little early to expect it to be ready at this moment.

I still use windows and all, I can't see ever actually getting rid of it because it is the most popular and used OS in the US and the world. That is for right now...
But that is cool.

Well, in fact they wanted to integrate all the features of google earth into a google maps like interface, running only in the browser, independent of the operating system.

But this seemed impossible.
In that case I think it is normal that you concentrate your work in the first place for the operating system that almost all your customers use.
On the long run however, I think google especially supports linux and firefox because they are the main open routes to break into microsofts monopoly.

Hold it ! hold it ! this "Beta" version comes with more strings attached than a spider web. Buy for $400 ? a year ? get serious.
3d works fine on my AMD64, Ubuntu 5.04 .... but playing zoom-zoom get real !
Windows windoze M$hit crashes way too much, especially using any 3D program, and what M$ program will work on my system ?????????????????? ](*,)

I talked to a Google guy at OSCON, they were demoing the latest 3D google map thing, honestly I was pretty indifferent about it. Wait, I thought it was lame, oh well, anyways, not really my point.
So I was talking to a Google guy and I was all like "Hey so whats the deal with _NO_ GNU/Linux apps, you serve Windows only, explain please." The first salesman was kinda non-tech savvy, which is strange, the things he said made no sense, really. Another Google guy stepped in and told me that Google had hired a team to port apps to GNU/Linux(i ASSume i386) and Mac. He said it seemed to him, strange that Google devs all used GNU/Linux and they coudnt run any of the Google programs. I asked him if they were going to port Desktop search when there was beagle, but he did not know specifics of programs.
So there you have it, straight from the horses mouth, filtered through me to you. Enjoy.
