I made us a logo. I figured I would submit it for approval. Hope you all like it.

Sorry Alex, I voted no. Nice try though :) It would be great to have a logo that is much simpler. Something that has very few colors and can print easily on CDs, stickers, flyers, etc. I'll dig around and see if I can provide some creative input.

I agree:

The PA state flag is busy and really indistigiushable from any other state flag (seal on blue background).

Obvious directions:
1) a ubuntu logo inside of a keystone.
2) replacing the "dots" in the logo with keystone.

The launchpad icon could just be a keystone.

I actually made a rough mock up the other day... let me figure out how to post it...

I've got to go with CCW on this one.. I like it... Can you do another one without the tan fill in the keystone, so that it will look good on black and white print? That way we can have a color and no color option depending on our needs.

That's really a crude concept thing and quite honestly it's the full extent of my artistic ability. I think I got it aligned somewhat correctly. If there's someone here that has the means to improve on it, please do.

B/W - should it be a black keystone with a white ubuntu cutout?

1) It was on the site before the poll
2) Being on the site doesn't make it a logo
3) It looks better than the original PA flag we had up looked
4) it will be replaced when we pick a logo

Updated the main site (http://meetlinux.com) and planet (http://planet.meetlinux.com)with ccw's logo.

Thanks to both ccw and lamalex for putting time into creating logos :)
