heres the situation
i am currently using a geforce fx 5200
i got from my uncle a geforce 4 ti 4400
which is better?
also i have an ATi rage 128PRO with a video input (just an input not a tuner) dose this work with linux?

As for the nVidia question, I believe the latest driver still supports the GeForce FX, but the GeForce 4 is now considered legacy. As for which one's faster in terms of raw speed, nVidia isn't that consistent with posting their specifications, so I don't know.

The GF4 Ti4400 is faster. It's a generation older than the FX5200 but the FX5200 has lower specs and runs slower (it's a budget 3D card while the Ti4400 was a higher-end model for its generation). Here is a link to an Anandtech review back in 2003 that compares the FX5200 Ultra to the Ti4200. If the Ti4200 is faster than the FX5200 Ultra, then the Ti4400 will be even faster than the non-Ultra FX5200.

thanks now all need to know is if that old ati card i have can capture video
