Problem:
Losing mouse/keyboard inputs on initial screen, need to push the power button to get to the logout screen options. Unable to kill process when in windowed mode, needs restart.

System:
P4 2.6GHz, 1G RAM, ATI Radeon 256MB, proprietary drivers, latest Wine installation, UT v436 set to Open GL and OSS audio.

Observations:
1.Was able to start and run game on Kubuntu Feisty with KDE, however this lead to multiple other display problems with my ATI card which eventually made me change the distro on this particular machine.
2. Researched Wine HQ and ubuntu forums, exhausted all the options. I recall the loss-of-input problem described in Wine HQ, however no solution was suggested.

I will be grateful for any help.

Loki installer appears to work only with v436 CD. All I have is v432 CD and the 436 patch, and bonus packs. Anyone was successful with wine installation?

WineHQ does not install the game properly. Go here >> http://www.princessleia.com/UT.php and read up on the installation there. Also you will need the following file: http://www.princessleia.com/tools//ut/ut-install-436-goty.run

Good luck !!

Dear VK4

I had the same problem and fixed it this morning by simply turn off compiz...

System > Pref. > Appearance > Visual Eff. > None...

Happy Fragin'

EDIT: UT runs on ubuntu just perfectly, even faster than under windows :wow:
