virtual box wont run win98 on xp

i dowloaded vitual box for winxp a few weeks ago i have tried to install win98 on it because i want to play worms armageddon with the fiddler on it.(and leiro :) ) the install whent fine after install i get the message


explorer.exe performed a ileagle operation and will now close
if the problem persists contact the program vendor.

this is after boot and there is no start menu or icons.

i cant do any thing here i press ctrl-alt-del and bring up the menu but there isnt anything there! i reinstalled win98 and it still does the same.

ive seen it before it says win 98 works but it doesnt??

did you mount the floppy drive with a windows 98 boot disk in the drive? you normally have to do this, then start dos with cd-rom support, and when loaded, use the command 'D:\setup' without the quotes, when D is your cd-rom drive (mounted) and the win98 cd is in the cd drive.

it is a laptop and doent have an fdd :sad::sad::sad: and the install goes fine off the cd it is after the install the message popus up
