Kernel problem during G3 install

I´m trying to install Feisty from an alternate install cd to an iBook G3. Things go fine until I get through about 80% of installing the base system, at which point I am given three choices of kernel to install. I have selected each of the three, and each time it tries to retrieve and install and returns after a few minutes saying that it can´t. Do I have a bad CD, or am I doing something wrong here?
