I recently noticed an issue, when GDM/GNOME starts, the gnome panels (both the top and the bottom one) would be drawn an outline first (so you'll see 2 rectangular bars with some black/greyish/white colors inside), then when the desktop background and other applets are loaded then the panels are re-drawn with the correct colors.

I tried booting up with the Feisty live CD as well as the CE3.0 live CD, this issue is only happening in CE.

has anybody else experienced the same problem? I also tried both a nVidia card, as well as a ATI card too, to isolate the problem.

thanks,

DW

This may be due to the translucent panel backgrounds that are used. I have noticed it as well. I have also had this type of issue with default Ubuntu as well though.

Thanks, Jereme

Ah! Should have thought of that... turned it off and it it's more pleasing to my eyes now; otherwise it reminds me that I have a really slow computer :lolflag:
