hi guys

i have a problem with my computer and ubuntu. the 64 bit cd of Fiesty fawn (7.04) doesn't load up into GUI, when i press "start or install", it goes to the ubuntu loading screen and just keeps loading, nothing happens. the CD drive stops and there is no HDD activity, and its like the computer just idles. i waited for a very long time and then i tried alt-f4, it said some error on drive 0.

some of my computer specs:
asus a8n-vm mobo
amd athlon 64 3000+
2 512 sticks of ram

is there a solution to this?

also on older versions of ubuntu, the OS installs but its messed up when i does, most of the prorams don't work and sometines it doesnt booot.

also im running ubuntu 32 fiesty fawn on this computer, were do you get drivers for my motherboard? b/c the graphics can only go up to 800X600 and 640X480..

thanks

can you write down the error message? You're not really giving much to go on, if you know what I mean.

I have almost similar problem to that. But I mange to get agound the problem by choosing my best monitor + hardware setting by pressing f4 on the booting screen. But now I have another problem. While I was playing with the Live-CD, I accidentally deleted my primary boot which is Windows XP. No regret because I really want to install this Feisty Fawn. After installing, I face the same problem as before, where the booting stop and both my monitor and keyboard blinking. I think it is the resolution problem and I tried command

$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

and choose the resolution i want but after restart, nothing happen, same problem occurs. Anyone can help me?

My PC spec:

AMD x64 3200+
ATI Radeon X700 Pro
Ndivia chipset
Samsung LCD monitor

Please some enlighten me as I'm really a noob in Linux. Thanks in advance.
