I'm not real familiar with the games, but I'm guessing puzzle games?
Here's a few links that my lead you to something appropriate:
UGA Gaming List (http://gaming.gwos.org/doku.php/games:puzzle)
http://www.happypenguin.org/list?sort=category&search=puzzle
there's also a few puzzle games at getdeb.net in their gaming section:

You may even find other titles she'll like. :)
Anyway good luck, and I'm crossing my fingers you'll find something she likes.

Gweled is a nice clone of Bejeweled, but I'm still trying to get Zuma running on Wine, because I couldn't find any clone.

Well there are free online versions at shockwave.com, but I just tried them, and they state that Firefox isn't a supported browser to play them.
You could always try to use a different browser, perhaps even IE through Wine, which might then allow you to play the game.
I know Bookworm and Email Chess work through the shockwave website... There are also similar games to Zuma and Bejeweled available, but you'll have to search through their catalogue to see what's compatible.

Pop Cap (http://www.popcap.com/gamepopup.php?theGame=diamondmine) has the game online, and it does support Linux and Firefox. I'm pretty sure it runs on Java, so you'll need to have that installed.
They have plenty of other games of that genre on their web site.

I know this trick of mine works with Klikit (a Kubuntu derivative) so it might well work with Ubuntu too.
When I used Gweled with PCLinuxOS, the high score was recorded. However, in Klikit, the high score could not be shown. But, I found in /var/games a file called gweled.easy.scores. Using sudo type privileges, i right clicked on that file and then Properties. I changed the User to my username instead of Root. Heh Presto, when I play Gweled, the high scores are now recorded under Klikit.

What is so fun about Bejeweled? It's boring!
It's much more fun to just kill each other in nexuiz or savage 1 or, well you name it :)
