JVC GR-DVL160EK Video Capture

I am trying to use Kino to capture some video off my DV camera. I have added myself to the video group and since that Kino has been able to detect the camera and even control it using the AV/C buttons. However, it still doesn't pick up any video or audio.

Any ideas?

try running kino from a terminal window
this sholud spit out all sorts of debugging info... (maybe even a bit too much)...

In my experience I have had difficulty capturing in files which have been recorded in LP mode but this is not just in Kino.
