Hi all,
Anyone else miss this game when they switched to linux? I sure did, and theres no real open source alternative, so if you want it back, vote for it in the wine appdb: http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=2633! You know you want it!

Email the creators, I know the original Sims came to Linux a while after the Windows release, maybe they have the same planned for The Sims 2?
Personally I don't see the point in emulating life when you can go out and live it...

Yeah, I'm sure you could emulate GTA in real life but that would be quite stupid. Most people who play GTA wouldn't have fun driving their car down a sidewalk and running over everyone.

The original Sims was never really available for Linux. Mandrake (now Mandriva) released a "gaming" version of Linux at one point with a copy of The Sims included that was essentially the Windows version slightly modified to run under WineX (now Cedega). So basically it was Transgaming's doing, not the creators of The Sims.

Yes, but the Sims and Grand Theft Auto are entirely different games.
I understand most people would not drive their car down the sidewalk, but most will feel the need to pee, feel the need for food, put the dishwasher on, perform household tasks. I personally don't see the point of doing your chores on a screen.

i never had any trouble with it under windows to be honest, but you're right it would be nice to have it for linux, or atleast a great open source alternative.
