I've recently installed the stable e17 repos on my x86 machines without any problems (finally). So I thought I'd like to try it on my uBook. Well... apparently the builds included in the edevelop.org repo are x86/x86_64 only. No PPC....
Anyone know of PPC e17 repos for Ubuntu 7.04?

you might want to try the repositories for debian, which are updated more frequently AND has packages for ppc

It works.. but for some reason it seems to be more resource intensive than the x86 counterparts. Either way, it screwed up something with my XFCE desktop (kept turning the XFCE manager off for the desktop which was not cool), so I had to uninstall it.
Looking into what caused the problem.. no leads yet, but uninstalling e17 did fix it.
Anyway.. e17 was nice, lacked themes, but the get-e.org site has most of them anyway.

Word of advice, don't use another distributions repository, unless you know what you're doing, otherwise you will run into major problems.
I've installed E17, but from the CVS source. There was a script someone on these forums.

E17... I've been dying to try it for quite some time. Please rate the level of difficulty for installing it for the "non-guru" type on a scale of 1 to 5.
1 being - super simple
5 being - best not try it
Thanks!
