Hi,
i was just wondering if anyone knows of a way to make Battlefield 2 run on Ubuntu I did try wine once a while back but i couldnt seem to get the game to run so unfortunately i went back to using windows but now im back with Kubuntu and im pretty dedicated to staying here but i would really like it if i could play Battlefield 2 without having to have a dual-boot system so ummm yeah any ideas ??

Well you could check out the wine application database page for battlefield2:
http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iAppId=2424
I don't have time to see if there's any useful info there for ya, but I figured I'd throw you a link incase it helps.

cedega runs it a little better yea, tho wine works too.
two main things you should stick with win on bf2 are imho:
1. wine hides your mouse cursor in the menus, mouse works, only cant see it, hard to find, connect to server etc, but once you're in its cool.
2.couldnt play on-line, dunno, thought it was punkbuster, but couldnt connect to even pb disabled servers.
whats others experiences?

OK i tried cedega but had issues that seem mostly to be attributed to the fact that Battlefield 2 requires certain functionality from a display adapter that isnt possible with the ATI linux drivers so i will swap the ATI card over for my older Nvidia card and hopefully my next post will be one of great joy and satisfaction lol
