I'd like to run Beryl/Compiz (and be able to actually install Ubuntu without having to use the Alternate disc) so I'm going to replace the PoS ATI X1300 in my Dimension 9200. I'm guessing an Nvidia card is best, but which one? I'm not going to be gaming and I don't want to spend loony toons money, something average or slightly above average should do. I think the 9200 is PCI Express.
Thanks,
adam

anything without ATI on the brand
better if it starts with the letter N, and finishes with "vidia"

I've been pretty satisfied with my GeForce 7600 GT XXX ... Not going to break the bank either.

Thanks lads. And they'll run "desktop effects" no problem, yeah? Oh, and they'll run 1920x1200 will they? Just remembered I'm running a widescreen setup.
Thanks,
adam
