That will show you how to change the text color to white. To change the panel color right-click on the panel, choose Properties, click on the Background tab.

Another question: I have installed a theme called "Darker Theme." The theme does color the panel black, which I like, but I don't like how I can barely see the text in input boxes and in the Main Menu. Is there a way to increase the intensity of the text color or changing the background?

Disregard the question. I just installed XFCE 4.
