does any one know how to do a screen capture on windows xp, lol,
it has been so long i have forgotten and i have just about turned xp inside out,

Press "Print Screen SysRq" or whatever is printed on your printscreen button.
Go to Paint and press Ctrl+V.
Save it.

hi, if it is a laptop, sometimes you have to press a combination of keys, eg, 'fn+prt scr', then paste the image into paint as stated.

no it is a desktop ,there is an easier way to do it i just cant find it.
i used to just click and it was done very simaler to screenshot in ubuntu.i did try the above method and as i said it did not work.

crtl + Print Scrn (both screens) and alt + Print Scrn (active screen) works for me on a dual monitor set-up

This is how you do it.
it tells me i cant do it with out a printer setup.since i dont have a printer i cant do it this way.
so i tried http://wisdom-soft.com/products/screenhunter_free.htm. and that works well.
and now i will apolagize to everyone else the other method works as well,just had to rearange my shortcut buttons,as i had allocated them buttons for other things and they were not responding the way they were supposed to.
i did say it had been a while since i fired up windows.lol

You don't need a printer. It always worked for me without any troubles...
