Is there a way I can get Steam with cs1.6 + diablo 2 working stable under Wine? Or am I going to haft to pay for cedegas+p2p ????
If so how would I go about getting them to work with wine. Last I tried steam had to have some activeX controll from mozilla and it crashed steam.exe and diablo2 kept asking for me to put the installation disk in o.O

I have Cedega. It install Steam seamlessly (well, almost seamlessly). You could try cedega cvs if you like (Steam is known to run there). http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=29996&highlight=cedega+cvs

Go for the P2P/Cedega if you can possibly afford it. It really is the easiest way, and I have many games working under it that I probably would never have figured out how to install otherwise.. (MOHAA, Spearhead, Breakthrough, etc). The native linux installer for MOHAA is crap, the sound is really AFU.

HL2 and Steam work great in it also.

Plus, your money helps keep some guys employed in the pursuit of improving the linux gaming experience.

Diablo II hast a gold rating on winehq.org and Steam (and so Counter-Strike) should work acceptable with Cedega from CVS as I know.
