HDSPConf and HDSPMixer - what are they? [Archive]

I have Ubuntustudio running on 2 computers now, and neither HDSPConf or HDSPMixer do anything at all when I click on them.

What are they?

I believe those are for the RME soundcards. I've never used them but i've read that they work pretty well.
