Just came up with a few ideas for the site. So If your planning to add things like reviews over time maybe you could tweek the site to allow better navigation of said features. Right now theres the one navigation panel on the right. Maybe if we could get one on the left too dedicated to site navigation. so on the left you would have.

.Home

.Documentation
..How To
..Walkthrough

.Forum

.Games
..Previews
..Reviews
..List

.Multiplay
..Servers
..Ranks

.UGA Tv
..This Week
..Top Games
..Interviews

(one dot is a primary option. two dots is for drop down option.)

UGA Tv is bassically the part of the site which holds all the game trailers and such, even just youtube ones. Its bassically a place for logging the videos in an easy to access place. Interviews was just an idea where by people vote for who they want interviewed on the forums or something then the winner gets asked for an interview and the people on the forum come up with the questions and its up to the person who accepts the interview to film it :( half baked idea so suggestions wanted :D )

On the right panel there would be two sections
1. User
2. Community

In the user section would contain the login which is there right now. When you login you would get your usuall ;
.settings
.profile
.logout
If it were posibble the user picture would be displayed on the right of this. If the user plays on the servers listed in the server browser and if possible to log information on the games that user plays then the user upon clicking on there avatar would get info on the last five games played. along with were they are currently ranked online.

In the community section you would have the latest forum posts along with the chatbox.

Instead of having just news on the homepage I thought you might be able to have headlines along with the game picture thingy you have right now on every news entry. so that can be in its own designated area which can be split into four quadrents News; a box containing headlines in the method mentioned above, Reviews: latest reviews in the same type of method as the news, Previews, and UGA Tv.

Was pondering this since before I started this thread but was reminded it of a discussion on the gubuntu thread. What if ubuntu-gamers-arena was split in two, not really split but more had ubuntu-gamers-arena target gamers and have another part of the site target developers. Have tutorials on coding, graphics design, etc. For beginners intermediate and advanced. Have engines such as the quake three engines source available and have each line of code documented so people understand how it works. Have news on development jobs going. In the distant future you might have things like google summer of code except for games. Its one thing trying to reform the state of linux gaming from a gamers perspective developers should be catered for too. Just my two cents. The reason i didn't mention it before was so that the gamers site and the features you were talking about could be implemented and refined first. Just thought id post it now, if only for food for thought.

I had already entertained this idea, supplied a wiki to developers, and then it was immediately ignored.

I can reconsider this if you think its valid or would get used.

its certainly valid. In wiki format i am unsure of. I would suggest first concentrating on the gamers side to the site. You can base the developer side off of the gamer side then. A developer community would be a better description then the one I gave above. Forums, Jobs going, Tutorials, News, Reviews on related gaming applications and tools. etc. This is why I am unsure of wiki format.
