Hi,
I am a teacher in a summer program for middle school age kids. I managed to get the local college to donate some of their old Imacs so these kids could have decent computers. All 10 are identical. They are all late 2001 indigo Imacs with 500mhz proccesors 128 ram and 10gb hard drives. When i instal it doesnt want to do multi seat setup and fails. I continued the install on four of the computers and it seemed to work untill login. After login x server wont start/fails because of a "problem with bonobo server" it then says nautalis can't be used. It would be nice if I can get it going for these kids. I love ubuntu and the idea behind it. I have it installed on my g3 tower and it works great. I am a newbie and I really don't know what I am doing.
Thanks for any help ](*,)

I installed ubuntu hoary 5.04 on my iMac 233. The first time thru the installation was a bit weird and most definitely incomplete. Being used to complete GNU/linux reinstalls ;-) i reinstalled it all from scratch and it's running pretty smooth, running multiple users in english and italian. In my case, the second time around i made sure ALL peripherals (ethernet, scanner, printer, etc.) were plugged in BEFORE the reinstall.
I say give it another try!

I had the same problem with my 600mhz blue dalmation imac. I don't remember exactly how I got it to work, but after a couple of tries I had it going. At the "boot:" prompt hit [tab] to see the different boot images, and try different ones. I think it may have been the expert one for g3's that worked for me. Don't give up!
