I was always used to the OS second guessing everything.. but up until I left windows I've always been able to get around such nonsense and do what I needed.. yet Vista locks you out of your own files..
In the future a MS OS user wont be able to input ANYTHING, it'll all be done remotely by MS.

I've always disliked when a computer tries to be smarter than me. I like when a computer is a guide, perhaps saying something like "Are you really sure you want to rm -rf /? If you really want to do it, OK, but it would be bad." I really dislike how MS has essentially taken even more control away under the guise of a data tracking service.
Not only is this a waste of disk space, it's also a waste of computing power. There's a reason why most file systems only journal metadata, because journaling everything would be slow. Seriously, people create backups/snapshots and have things like CVS and subversion to track changes to files and recover from accidental deletions. And they can access them anytime, from anywhere. However, I will freely admit that CVS can be a pain for newbies. Perhaps what is needed is some sort of easy CVS and/or backup frontends for newbies.

I would say... the desillution of vista... as long as I know, for many writers, vista was the most disapointing release of the year...

I would rather backup my own data, the very few files that are really important, not all the junk that I don't really care if it's lost into oblivion or not. and I hate that only vista ultimate actually uses the hidden files created by other versions like home premium

LOL, ya, you know that is a very stupid feature MS added with the shadow backup. The average user prolly won't know about it, and one day will wake up and wonder where their hard drive space keeps going. Limiting it to business and up to get the backups was just a form of legalized blackmail far as I see... people shouldn't have to pay to get "extra" features, they should just be able to get whatever feature they want with one version, oh wait, that's Ubuntu :D.
