I've checked around on the forum to see if anyone else has encountered this problem in my situation, and apparently none have.
My 160gb HD is divided in two parts. Approx 7 gb TOTAL on one, the one which contains my Windows filder, the C:, with barely 1,7 gb free space, while the other, D:, with 20 gb availible.
Naturally I figured, "Hey, I don't have enough space on my C:, so I'll just install on D:", because I've been using it for games and media for ages.
So, I downloaded the Wubi install client, which then downloaded and installed 650 mb of Ubuntu to my D: drive. After rebooting to my XP, I rebooted again to start up Ubuntu, at which point my floppy drive made a strange noise, and the whole Error 17 bit showed up. You know, the "find --set-root /wubi/boot/grub/menu.lst" line and such.
Only later, reading the readme (who I, being an idiot, didn't read first), I realized I had to move files to C: drive.
How can I keep Wubi on drive D:, and still make it work?
Thanks in advance.
