Powerpoint ppt file causes error.

Hello Wonderful UBUNTU ppl,

I'm a newbie at UBUNTU CE, but the more I use it the more I love it !!!

I have the following problem. It happens with ANY Micro$oft Powerpoint PPT file.

I can open the PPT file(s) using the OpenOffice 2.2 Presentation program.

And I can view the slide show without any problems. However when I close the slideshow I get the following error

OpenOffice.org Document Recovery
Due to an unexpected error (blah blah ....)

No files are listed for recovery.

When I close the OO Doc Recovery window -- OpenOffice.org 2.2's Writer program opens with a blank document.

I will be happy to supply any info I can in order to help correct this problem.

You should try the manual install :

I have the same problem as peter_from_hobart.
My Ubuntu is 7.04 (AMD64).
Shouldn't it be enought to install openoffice 2.2 from >Application >Add/Remove...?

No because the OOo packages are modified to fit Ubuntu requirements. Sadly, it causes a lot of bugs.
