I am trying to get audacity to save to mp3 sound file of my pastors sermons. I am having a hard time to do so under ubuntu 7 . I am new to ubunu and I am trying to dump windows me on the computer I am using . i am running audacity on the computer running win me and like it a lot but win me sucks . I have been able to install audacity and run it uder ubuntu7 but I am lost on installing lame 397 so it will save my files in mp3 format.
please help

Make sure the multiverse repository is enabled, then in the terminal type:
sudo apt-get install lame

or system > administrator > synaptic package manager
search for lame, select it and install it
to do it with a graphical interface, since you are new to ubuntu

I used the graphic intro face It this a lot simpler then I expended
