I have recently moved from Mac OS X to Ubuntu and I am loving every minute of it. I have an HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop with built-in webcam, which I have working on Ubuntu.

On my PowerBook I used to record my vlogs and vidcasts using Quicktime Pro and an iSight. I'd like to do the same with my built-in camera on this HP, what software do I use in Ubuntu to accomplish this? I'd like to record my vlog, do very little editing and then update it to various sites like Youtube, revver and whatnot.

Thank you.

LiVES looks rather promising

check it out here:
http://lives.sourceforge.net/

If you think it will suit your needs you can download it here:
http://www.getdeb.net/app.php?name=lives

You could also try Kino (it is in Add/remove applications), It is made for making videos from a DV camcorder input, but you might be able to get it working with a webcam.

sorry I couldn't be more helpfull... but I haven't done much Vlogging

Best of luck
